Housing Information
Housing sign-up information
This year IKIF has secured housing for participants for the 2008 Festival in several locations.
The first is at INTERNATIONAL HOUSE at 500 Riverside Drive (122nd Street). The accommodations there will be in guest rooms/suites with either triple or quadruple occupancy. There are beds for 29 people. Seven Guest Rooms are Triples. Two Guest Suites are quads. The rate for the triple is $155 per night (approx. $52 per person per night). The quad rate is $180 per night ($45 per person per night). These suites will be available for 16 nights during the Festival: Arrival Saturday, July 12; Departure Monday, July 28.
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST HAVE EITHER THREE PEOPLE FOR THE TRIPLE OR FOUR PEOPLE FOR THE QUAD READY TO BOOK A RESERVATION TOGETHER. NEITHER IHOUSE NOR IKIF WILL PUT PEOPLE TOGETHER FOR YOU. WE WILL HOWEVER ASK THOSE WHO WISH TO FIND ROOMMATES TO CONTACT US AFTER THEY RECEIVE THE ACCEPTANCE EMAIL ON MAY 7 SO THAT WE CAN PUT AN EMAIL LIST TOGETHER. PARTICIPANTS CAN THEN BE IN TOUCH WITH EACH OTHER ABOUT FINDING ROOMMATES.
You should make your reservation directly with IHouse, but for further information you may wish to see their website at: http://www.ihouse-nyc.org/s/707/start.aspx
The facility has many amenities and dining facilities which can be used during the Festival on a pay-as-you-go basis. (Please note that practice rooms are only available to permanent residents, not guests.) Since all rooms in NYC are in demand, you will want to make a decision about this as soon as you know you have been accepted to attend the Festival.
Check-In: Check in time is after 1pm. Pick up keys at Riverside Reception Desk from 1pm - 11pm Mon-Sun. If you can't arrive during those hours, pick up keys at the Claremont Reception Desk at 155 Claremont Ave. Your check-in packet will contain your room key, and a temporary ID.
Check-Out: Check out time is no later than 11am. No late checkouts. To check out, drop your key and temporary ID at the Riverside Reception Desk. If leaving before 9am, please exit through the Claremont entrance and leave the keys with the receptionist. A baggage holding area is available for guests who arrive early and for those who check out by 11am and need a place to store bags during the day.
Payment: Cash, traveller's checks, Visa/Mastercard, or bank money order made payable to International House. Payment in full due upon check-in. (Personal checks, Amex, or Discover cards not accepted)
Cancellation: You must cancel before 5pm two business days before arrival (July 9) to avoid a charge equal to the first night's room charge. No-show reservations will be charged the room charge for one night. Changes made upon arrival (i.e. shortening your stay) are subject to a charge equal to one additional night's room charge beyond your departure.
For reservations, changes, or cancellations, please call: 212-316-8436. This is the preferred way to make reservations.
